CGC is a ten-skill training program, open to all dogs (purebred & mixed) that focuses on teaching the advanced stages of manners & obedience, instilling values of responsible ownership, and strengthening the bond between you and your dog at home and in the community! After mastering the ten skills & passing the CGC test together administered at the end of the course, you will join the proud ranks of over 1 million dogs who have earned their CGC awards!

Our Canine Good Citizen preparation course will give you the background skills necessary to successfully pass testing at the end of the class. It is not required to pass CGC in order to take a therapy dog evaluation, but is strongly recommended & helpful!

A good way to prepare for the CGC test/course and/or therapy dog classes is to take our foundations courses as well as our Build a Behavior series that focus on building a specific skill set including polite greetings, leash manners, impulse control & recalls.

Who is it for? Dogs we months of age or older (at time of evaluation) who have already completed several obedience classes. Dogs must be friendly with people & comfortable working around other dogs. Contact for more information on determining if your dog is right for this level of class

Cost?  $150 (Includes Evaluation at end of class)

How long does it run?  6 weeks (Must be able to attend all 6 classes consecutively to qualify for evaluation at end of class)
